Leo
The zodiac is divided in two, six-and-six.
Six masculine, six feminine signs; six day, six night signs; six unifying, six dividing signs. Each alternates into the other. Leo's a dividing sign. Here's how.
The sign preceding Leo is Cancer. In Cancer, we "return home." We go to lay down in Luna's blanket, we paint images of imagination with the William Blakes, we return to our astral land within the Elohim.
Well, with every return is a departure, so we won't last very long. Like Mario, after a feather we'll float down. Leo, the proceeding sign, a symbol of division, is the infant laid down from heaven. His tail is an umbilical cord.
Leo is a matrix of forces (like each sign), and every time we enter Leo whether on the cosmic scale (i.e. departure of Elohim, "day of rest") or miniature scale, we enter the 'independence' theme.
This is why Saturday is the seventh day of the week, and the day of rest. Saturday being Saturn; Saturn being Winter; winter begining in January i.e. Janus; Janus being the God of beginnings; Saturday symbolizes new beginnings, transitions. Not the "new beginnings" of Spring. Spring is already midlife. It's the result of the architect in Winter, the cave hole, who's blackness draws us in to rest, recuperate, withdraw from a saturated world. Saturn. The moon shares this. Then comes Sunday, the first day of the week. The unchambered bullet in Saturday's gun.
Returning to the idea of separation, this is why the sun embodies children and symbolizes them. This is why the sun expresses clinginess. On a negative scale the sun also embodies influencers. Think people in a desperate attempt to farm content for their angel, money. They attempt what the lunarians do naturally, create. They fail to create in our age because of a lack of "silver." A lack of inspiration, a lack of creativity, emotion, imagination.
Every Leo moon, once a month, indicates separating. Separating from the past and encouraging self development and independence. This time of month we find ourselves refocusing, receiving new challenges, and developing different responses.
Under Leo we aspire to challenges; Hercules. Even so we look up to others to influence us ("older brothers and sisters"). So we have to call on the light of our actual spiritual brothers and sisters to help us learn discernment.
